The Warehouse Print
Definition
This is one for all you house heads, a celebration of 4/4 rhythms.
If you love house music, then you probably already know this, but there's a good chance you might not.
The Warehouse (206 S. Jefferson St.) was a legendary Chicago nightclub active from 1977 to 1982, where DJ Frankie Knuckles helped birth house music. This sacred space served as a safe haven for Chicago's Black and Latino gay community, known for its intense, spiritual, and all-night dancing from midnight to midday.
Our Warehouse Print carries the weight of this musical history, that moment when a genre was born and a community found its sanctuary. It's about transcendence, liberation, and the spiritual power that gave house music its name - literally from people asking record shops for "that Warehouse music."
This print captures that energy through spectral dancing hands rising from the Chicago skyline, evoking the soul and spirit that flows through house music and its thriving community to this very day.
Props to the late Frankie Knuckles and Ron Hardy - the Godfathers who blessed us with house music at The Warehouse and Music Box. Much love to the living legends Larry Heard, Marshall Jefferson, and all the Chicago pioneers.
Designed in London by Seth Banks. Listen to the playlist here.
